Woodside (& St Georges Cross)

Woodside is bounded on the north and east by Maryhill and the  Forth and Clyde canal and by Great Western Rd and Woodlands to the west and south; see also Kelvinbridge and Churches. The beginning of the long Maryhill Rd 

'Presented to the people of Glasgow by the Cooperative Wholesale Society'.  This 1897 sculpture stood on the old Co-op building at the cross until the building was demolished in 1985 - the sculpture was saved and given its new freestanding site in 1988.
