Alexander 'Greek' Thomson

Alexander 'Greek' Thomson (1817-1875) was one of the world' greatest architects and is perhaps the most remarkable example of a great architect unhonoured in his own country, indeed in his own city,  as the photographs below show only too well. Thomson was born in Balfron, just north of Glasgow,  and all his work is in Glasgow. You can find photographs and descriptions of his astounding buildings at the following websites
