Hunterian Museum

The Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery at the University of Glasgow is Scotland's oldest public museum, and is a vibrant link with the Scottish Enlightenment. It was founded to house the collection of the anatomist William Hunter (1718-83) and opened in 1807. See

The Hunterian has a huge collection of Roman artefacts: altars, tombstones and milestones from the most northerly outpost of the Roman Empire, the Antonine Wall
